The young guard, a conscript who only enlisted in October, may have gotten into a fight with his superior that evening. The situation then escalated at 06:55. The guard fired around, army spokesman Colonel Michael Bauer confirmed the information from “Krone”.
The other guards fled into the waiting room. The conscript threatened the officer and opened fire. He then drew his gun and shot the young man.
The officer was injured and taken to a hospital, Bauer said. The severity of the injuries was initially unknown and there was no information about the cause of the bloody conflict.
