The nationwide storm caused several firefighting operations in Lower Austria on Thursday. In the district of Baden, wind gusts of more than 70 km/h caused several trees to fall over. In Berndorf, a train route even had to be closed after a tree fell on the track, the district command reported in a broadcast.
In the Leesdorf district of Baden, the volunteer fire brigade intervened because several trees threatened to fall on the washing hall of the Wiener Lokalbahn. In Möllersdorf, the fire brigade removed a billboard that had fallen or been blown by the wind on the B17.
