On Sunday night, three people were injured in two cases of domestic violence in Vienna-Favoriten. In one of the cases, a 44-year-old called 911 because she allegedly grabbed her partner (55) by the neck and punched her fist several times.
Police said the man was also injured by the woman’s vigorous resistance. His wife had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. The injured man refused treatment for his injury. He was arrested and then set free. An entry and approach ban and a weapons ban have been imposed against him.
Second case in favorites
The second argument between a 37-year-old and her ex-boyfriend was initially verbal, but so violent that police were alerted to the woman’s apartment. “Because dangerous attacks by the man on the woman could not be ruled out, the 25-year-old was banned from entering and approaching,” said police spokeswoman Barbara Gass.
Police officer punched in the face
When asked to pack his personal belongings, the man punched a police officer in the face. He was slightly injured and the perpetrator was arrested, but also released after reporting. A breath test showed that the man had a blood alcohol level of 2.56.
