A 52-year-old skier collided with a board on the edge of the slope in the Lech am Arlberg ski area on Sunday morning. In the fall, he rolled over several times and was momentarily unconscious.
The 52-year-old was driving from the Trittkopf mountain station in Vorarlberg on a red slope towards the valley station at about 11:20 am when the accident happened. After several rollovers, he remained unconscious on the runway a few feet from the board. When the emergency medical helicopter “Gallus 1” arrived on site, the winter sports enthusiast had already regained consciousness.
The man suffered internal injuries in the fall. Vorarlberg police could not provide information on the severity of the injuries. The 52-year-old was flown to Zürs for medical treatment.
