Incredible tragedy in the HTL Mödling (Lower Austria) after the Christmas holidays: a 16-year-old student fell from the 5th floor of the building. She had no chance of survival.
She was beautiful, an excellent student, popular, and above all outwardly cheerful. She spent Christmas with her family and the holidays at home. Last Sunday, Lena went back to Mödling, met her two friends and made herself comfortable in the shared room in the dormitory.
It is not known what happened in the hours that followed or what the trio talked about. There is only sad certainty about one fact: Lena was only 16 years old. The girl is dead.
Sneaked out of the living room at night
Sometime in the night on Monday, the student should have left the living room. Her two colleagues did not notice until the early hours of the morning that she was not in bed next to them. Lena was swallowed by the earth. The huge school complex was then searched for a long time and the 16-year-old was eventually found.
The girl was lying on a porch – she must have fallen from the fifth floor and died instantly. What remains is sadness and disbelief from classmates, teachers, parents – and the question of the background. The police are investigating. In addition, the classmates, teachers and parents are now psychologically taken care of.
A similar tragic incident had already occurred at the school in the south of Lower Austria. A 15-year-old boy of the same age at the time had died almost exactly 20 years ago in a fall from a window in the educational institution.
