Day 4 as part of the blockade week in Vienna announced by activists of the last generation: On Thursday, several participants paralyzed traffic on Schüttelstrasse near the Danube Canal. However, the attempt to flatten the A4 in this way and then stay on the road there was thwarted in advance.
In concrete terms, the activists positioned themselves on the corner of Schüttelstrasse and Halmgasse. Once again they took to the streets to stop traffic. According to spokesman Florian Wagner, the activists also planned to block the Ostautobahn and then stick there as well. However, the police were faster and were able to prevent this.
The wave of blockades has been going on since Monday. On that day, activists took to the streets in front of several Viennese schools and called for a rethink of climate protection. On Tuesday, the participants caused traffic disruption on the Praterstern and on Wednesday on the Vienna Belt.
