The United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, announced this on Thursday appointment of a special prosecutor who will study everything classified documents which have been found in President Joe Biden’s homes and offices.
The special prosecutor will be Robert whorewhich will not be subject to the day-to-day oversight of a Justice Department official, but must abide by “rules, procedures and policies,” Garland said at a news conference.
Garland made the announcement after the White House and Biden confirmed it themselves discovery of new classified documents from his time as vice president (2009-2017) in one of his mansions in Delaware (USA).
The Attorney General explained that on November 4, four days before the midterm elections, the Office of the Inspector General of the National Archives contacted the Justice Department and informed it that the White House had found classified documents in the private office of the Biden. at the Penn Biden Center think tank, a place that “was not authorized to store classified documents”.
In early January, it was Lausch himself who recommended further investigation by a special counsel.
Biden assured this Thursday that he is confident that the conflict created by the classified documents will be resolved. “Everything will be cleared up, I’m sure,” he said.
Attorneys for the presidency, in conjunction with the Justice Department, have conducted a search of Biden’s private residences in wilmington and the beach of rehobothin Delaware, the White House admitted Thursday.
The lawyers found out political and personal roles along with a series of secret documents. All but one of the papers were found in a storage unit in the garage of Biden’s Wilmington residence, while one, a single page, was found in an adjoining room. Nothing was discovered at the beach house.
It is not known what prompted these searches, the contents of the documents and who decided to send them to those places.
