Whoopi Goldberg Says: No Smith Won’t Take Oscar Away –

Date:

Chat show host Whoopi Goldberg said Will Smith won’t take away his Oscar after beating Chris Rock on stage at the Academy Awards last night. Goldberg, governor of the awards, said King Richard Starr had “mistaken”.

The former Oscar presenter said the star was under a lot of pressure overnight and “collapsed” and “overreacted”. Smith took the stage and hit the comedian in front of a star-studded audience at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater after Rock made fun of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and hair loss.

Red Table Talk host Pinkett Smith previously talked about combating hair loss and said that’s what got him shaved. The incident drew a response on social media and across Hollywood, with the academy saying it “does not approve of violence in any way” and the involvement of Los Angeles police.

Speaking on his talk show The View, Goldberg said, “We’re not going to take his Oscar. I’m sure there will be consequences, but I don’t think there will be, especially since Chris said, ‘Listen, I don’t blame you.'”

“(Smith) messed up… overreacted, you made mistakes. I think he overreacted. He had a moment where he was…stopped. And you have all the pressure hoping to win and trying to keep your face.

“I understand that not everyone acts like we would like to be under pressure, some break up. Broke. I don’t know if they spoke up or apologized, I just know that sometimes you get to a certain point and act badly.”

For their part, other celebrities defending Smith, comedian Tiffany Headsh, said the accident was “the best thing I’ve seen in my life.” After the ceremony held at the Conservative Ball.

“The world may not like how it has been destroyed, but to me it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, because it convinced me that there are still men who love their wives and care for their wives.”

Smith’s son, Jayden Smith, 23, also appeared to defend his father’s actions, writing on Twitter: “And we do.”

Tennis star Serena Williams, whose father Smith played King Richard, shared a video on her Instagram account in which he appeared shocked and later admitted that he “had been drinking.”

The rapper posted a 50 Cent picture of this moment on Instagram and wrote, “B! Never play with me. LOL.”

After being nominated for Best Actor for the role of King Richard, Smith used words of admiration to apologize to the Academy and “all the nominees,” but not Rock. Other celebrities have criticized the incident, including Star Wars actor Mark Hamill who called it “the worst moment of the Oscars”.

He added, “The improvisational comics are very useful for pirates. Violent physical abuse – not much.”

Actress Mia Farrow wrote on Twitter: “It was just a joke. Jokes are what Chris Rock does. It was always sexy. It was a light joke for him. And I love JJ.

Marshal Herskovitch, the maker of the last samurai, demanded that the academy do more than just publish a statement in response to the incident. He tweeted, “I urge the academy of which I am a part to take disciplinary action against Will Smith. He has insulted our entire community tonight.”

Comedian Katie Griffin has suggested that Smith set a bad precedent in her career. He tweeted: “Let me tell you something, it’s bad practice to go up on stage and physically assault a comedian.

“Now we all have to think about who should be the next Will Smith in comedy clubs and theaters.”

Judge Motsi Mabuze, who was born in South Africa, called it “one of the biggest and most frustrating moments of shame ever” and criticized Smith and Rocky.
