A 14-year-old girl was attacked and injured with a knife in Lower Austria on Friday afternoon. The attack took place on a narrow, little-used pedestrian and bicycle path near the center of Mistelbach. The assailant attacked his victim from behind, pulled him to the ground and threatened him with the knife. Then he fled.
The incident happened around 5:30 p.m., police said on Saturday. During the attack, the girl reached for the knife as a defensive response. She suffered cuts on her palms. The perpetrator then released his victim and fled on foot towards the city center. The 14-year-old was treated on an outpatient basis at the Mistelbach State Clinic.
Was it the same culprit?
According to the police, there was a similar incident in Mistelbach fifteen minutes before this act. A man pranced in front of a 21-year-old woman and quietly pulled a balaclava over his face. When the front door of a nearby residential building was opened, the man walked on without saying a word. Whether it is the same man is under investigation, according to the police.
