Dramatic scenes took place in Wörgl in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein! A local (22) was standing by the track at the train station. After nearly throwing himself in front of a train in front of the officers, he was taken to Kufstein Hospital. There he injured two police officers and threatened the staff.
The incident happened just after 2am on Sunday night. The 22-year-old, no stranger to the police, was on the tracks at Wörgl station. When the officers tried to take the man away, he initially behaved aggressively, but was calmed down. “Suddenly and unexpectedly, presumably with suicidal intent, the man jumped onto the track in front of an approaching train and left it just before the imminent collision.”
Two officers injured, taken to jail
Due to his psychological state of emergency, the Tyrolean was taken by the rescue service under police escort to Kufstein Hospital, where he should have been admitted as an inpatient. Of course, that didn’t suit the 22-year-old. “He was extremely aggressive towards the officers and nursing staff.” The man was eventually arrested, threatening police and hospital staff and lightly injuring two officers.
Admission to prison was ordered by the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office.
