Horror accident Tuesday in Wörgl (Tyrol): A driver of a parcel truck overlooked an 83-year-old pedestrian, hit her with his car and dragged her for a meter. Only when passers-by sounded the alarm did he stop.
A 24-year-old Romanian reversed into a side street in Wörgl that ran parallel to Fritz-Atzl-Straße at around 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday. In doing so, he saw an 83-year-old Austrian woman who was walking over the head at the time, hit her with the back of the vehicle and unnoticed dragged the woman about 16 meters further up the road.
Passers-by sounded the alarm
When the driver stopped briefly and drove forward a little, a passer-by raised his arm to alert him to the accident. The 24-year-old immediately got out and the passer-by started the rescue chain.

The Austrian was trapped under the vehicle as a result of the accident and had to be freed by the volunteer fire brigade with technical equipment.
