In wind and weather, two tipsy German “après-skiers” lost their way completely on Wednesday evening on the Schatzberg in the Tyrolean lowlands. Three local ski tourers – including two mountain rescuers from Wildschönau – averted the worst and launched a strange rescue operation, as seen in the video above.

Wednesday evening, Ski Resort Schatzberg in Auffach in the Tyrolean Wildschönau: It’s snowing and stormy, it’s foggy, the thermometer shows minus 10 degrees. The two mountain rescuers Andreas Mayr and Stefan Obermoser from the Auffach/Wildschönau location and their colleague Tobias Rosseck from Westendorf reached the top of the Schatzberg around 8 p.m. during their evening ski tour.
