A tragic car accident took place in Feldkirchen (Carinthia) on Wednesday when a 52-year-old man wanted to drive from a parking lot via St. Veiter Straße onto the main road.
It was just before seven in the morning when a 52-year-old Wednesday pulled out of the park-and-ride car park onto St. Veiter Straße in Feldkirchen. “He stopped his car before the intersection with the B94,” the police report: “The 52-year-old driver then drove into the intersection for unknown reasons directly in front of a car approaching from the left.” The driver of the other car, a 47-year-old man, was unable to brake and crashed into the 52-year-old’s vehicle.
“As a result, the car was thrown into the ditch and the driver was trapped and seriously injured,” the police said. “Fieldkirchen FF, alerted by the witnesses, had to cut the man out with mountain scissors.” Despite immediate first aid and CPR by the emergency medical team, the 52-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
