One apartment, two fires: Two previously unknown people set fire to the balcony of a residential building in Salzburg – the fire brigade had to be called twice.
A curious situation for the Salzburg fire brigade: on Friday around 5 p.m., the emergency services arrived at an apartment fire on Aribonenstrasse. As reported, the fire in the apartment and on the balcony was extinguished after 45 minutes. But that wasn’t the end of the night for the firefighters. Because around 11.15 p.m. they had to swerve again to a fire in the same place. This time, the apartment itself caught fire.
According to the police, it is now clear: two unknowns lit fireworks on the balcony in the afternoon, causing the first fire. According to the management, the duo is also responsible for the second fire. The strangers would have entered the apartment through the balcony and started the second fire. The background to the crime is still unclear at this time. Police are calling on witnesses to provide relevant information.
