Dealing with cocaine – wild rave parties: Detectives blew up the drug gang

Date:

Strike against organized drug crime: Detectives rounded up a drug ring that had been supplying cocaine to young customers in southeastern Styria and southern Burgenland. The main pullers were a 24-year-old from Kosovo and his uncle. The masterminds’ approach is described as particularly brutal.

Investigations during wild rave parties in the Styrian-Burgenland border region between Burgau and Stinatz sparked the case. They targeted a drug supplier from Kosovo. The suspect supplied cocaine on a large scale to customers from the Fürstenfeld, Güssing and Jennersdorf region.

Conducted research on regular customers
After its illegal activities came to light, it placed advertisements against a number of regular customers. According to the investigators, the masterminds behind the drug deals were extremely brutal, using force of arms against both the dealers and those who knew about them. “The weapons could be secured, bans were imposed,” explains Martin Huber, director of the Burgenland state police.

Syrians as drug runners
The fine-meshed network of cocaine deliveries was set up by a Kosovar (24) from Fürstenfeld, who worked closely with his uncle (43) – supported by a Styrian (28) and a 32-year-old from the Burgenland district of Jennersdorf. A Syrian (30) brought the drug from Brussels in Belgium via Germany to Austria. A 23-year-old Austrian acted as an intermediary.

On the last tour, the drug courier and an accomplice (28) ended up at the Ilz exit. In the car of the suspects, the police found 1.3 kilos of cocaine with a street value of at least 260,000 euros. To arrest!

Now the handcuffs also clicked for the 24-year-old main suspect and his uncle. They would have made high profits selling cocaine between 80 and 120 euros per gram. 22 customers were identified. Five organizers of the drug gang are in prison in Graz.
