The British Prime Minister is due to meet with the President of the European Commission to try to move negotiations forward to unblock the Northern Ireland Protocol, a regime negotiated as part of Brexit.

British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunakwill receive the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in London this Monday to try to personally move forward in the negotiations to protocol for Northern Irelanda scheme that was negotiated as part of Brexit, but which the British government has refused to implement for two years.
The European Commission and the UK government have notified von der Leyen’s trip to London in a joint statement stressing that both have “agreed to continue working personally”.
The goal is “joint and practical solutions to the series of complex challenges related to the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland”, explains Brussels.
In recent days, the negotiating teams have made significant progress and speculation has skyrocketed about the imminent agreement to resolve the dispute.
