Italy is still searching for more victims of the ship that sank off the coast of Calabria early Sunday. As a result, at least 62 people, including several children, have died and there are 81 survivors. The ship was carrying 200 migrants, so rescue services are still looking for the rest.
19 people remain hospitalized, half of them minors. Most are Somalis, Afghans and Pakistanis fleeing wars and conflicts in the direction of Europe.

Italian Prime Minister, Georgia Meloniexpressed regret over the tragedy and announced measures to combat illegal migration.
According to data from Italian NGOs, more than 12,000 migrants have arrived in Italy so far this year and more than 20,000 have died or disappeared in the Mediterranean since 2014.
