A serious traffic accident took place on Marchfeldstrasse in Vienna on Wednesday morning. A truck collided with a tram. Four people were injured in the collision and were taken to hospital, including the tram driver.
It was 8.15 am when the fatal accident occurred in Marchfeldstrasse in Vienna-Brigittenau. The Viennese professional rescue service had to turn out with several teams to the scene of the accident. “Four people were slightly injured in the accident,” said rescue spokesman Daniel Melcher.

The injured, including the driver of the tram, were taken to hospital after emergency medical care.

The cause of the accident is still unclear. As Wiener Linien reported on its website, the collision caused delays in the morning. Tram lines 2, 31, 33 could not continue in both directions. The outage lasted until 9:30 a.m.
