The Munich city council has imposed temporary bans on seven climate activists. Both taking and using “super glues and similar glues” is included. The protesters previously blocked traffic several times.
The order is limited to three months and is not a punitive measure, but a preventive measure, a spokeswoman for the Munich district administration said. The seven affected people are said to have repeatedly participated in climate protests in the past and blocked traffic on several occasions. In particular, “carrying, transporting and using superglue and similar adhesives in the city of Munich” is prohibited. However, the freedom of expression and assembly of those affected must not be restricted.
Not everyone adheres to the ban
How many will stick to it is the question. The first violations of the glue ban have already taken place. For example, on March 14, two members of the Last Generation participated in a traffic blockade and were caught with glue. People then started a protest on Twitter because he would now have to pay 1,000 euros. In general, both these two and five other people are covered by the ban.
The last generation is also known in Austria for sticking campaigns on the street. This week they were active in various federal states such as Vienna, Upper Austria, Carinthia and Tyrol.
