Rescued dog “Mila” – From the Ukrainian front to the safe bank

Date:

The war in Ukraine has brought unimaginable suffering to the country – the people, but also the animals, who are often left completely helpless, either by flight or by death and destruction. One of these animals is the dog “Mila”. Her story begins about 2000 kilometers east of Austria in Bachmut – and ends on a bench in Lower Austria.

“Mila’s” story with me begins one evening in late February. We – my girlfriend, Swiss Hound “Aron” and I – are sitting comfortably on the couch in the warmth, having just eaten when my girlfriend shows me a picture on Facebook. It shows a German Shorthaired Pointer flanked by two soldiers in uniform.
