More and more details are becoming known about the fatal knife wounds in Marchtrenk (Upper Austria). The suspect from Montenegrin allegedly suspected a relationship between the victim and his ex-wife, he even called her after the crime.
The motive for the alleged murder of a Bosnian (40) Friday morning on the open street in Marchtrenk is probably jealousy. The main suspect, a Montenegrin (40) living in Hörsching, apparently assumed that the colleague living in Traun had a love affair with his ex-wife. A suspicion that unfortunately ended fatally for the Bosnian.
fight for action
Both men drove to their employer’s campsite at around 07:20 on Friday with a 19-year-old Serb. In front of the company premises, the 40-year-old rivals got out of the blue SUV to open the entrance gate. A heated discussion ensued. Suddenly, the Montenegrin took out a knife and stabbed the Bosnian five times with the eight-inch blade.
Drive to cafe
The victim died a little later in the Wels Clinic. The 19-year-old who was in the car would not have noticed the stabbing attacks at first. He moved forward a little to make room for an approaching driver. The Montenegrin then hurried after him, jumped into the car with the bloody knife and shouted, “Drive, drive, drive!” While the witness alerted the police, the 40-year-old fled with the Serb to a café in Traun.
murder weapon in the car
After some time, however, the Montenegrin left the restaurant and drove alone in the SUV towards Linz, where he was grabbed by the Cobra at around 8:50 a.m. on the A7 near the Bindermichl tunnel. The murder weapon was still in the car. He would have previously confessed the murder to his ex-wife by telephone and threatened to kill her as well.
19-year-old released
The 19-year-old colleague was arrested at 09:20 in the cafe. After there were no more pressing suspicions against him, he was released in the meantime, but then arrested again for violation of the aliens law – he is not registered in Austria.
The main perpetrator refused to testify during the interrogation on Saturday. The man, known to authorities, was convicted in February of persistent violence against his divorced wife. He then had to spend ten hours behind bars, but was then released with milder means.
