A rare anniversary was celebrated on Saturday in Neusiedl near Güssing: Margarete (89) and Franz Hörmann (92) celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary – the marriage of grace.
The two married on April 12, 1953 – at a time when there were still Russian soldiers of occupation in Burgenland. Over the decades, three children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren joined the family.
We celebrated together on Saturday at the Kracher inn. The congratulations came from Mayor Werner Kemetter and parliament representative Wolfgang Sodl. The celebrants were also asked about the recipe for their happy marriage: “Both have to admit. Everyone can express their opinion, but not argue with each other. And if you have a fight, don’t be angry with each other afterwards,” says Margarete Hörmann. “I’m already deaf and don’t always hear everything,” replies her husband Franz and laughs well.
The “Krone” wishes many happy years with the family!
