Spectacular traffic accident Tuesday evening in the Tyrolean Unterland: a 27-year-old South Tyrolean lost control of his car near Scheffau (Kufstein district), after which it crashed into the guardrail and overturned. The driver was unharmed.
The accident happened around 9 p.m. The 27-year-old South Tyrolean – reportedly a doctor – was driving his car on Loferer Straße from Söll towards St. Johann when he got too far to the right of the roadway at Scheffau.
Car ended up on the roof
“The car initially hit the guardrail. The force of the impact caused the car to flip over, toss back onto the roadway and to come to rest on its roof, police said.
Driver unharmed, car total loss
The 27-year-old was alone in the car. He was extremely lucky in the accident and was unharmed. The vehicle involved in the accident was a total loss. During the rescue work, the B 178 was only passable on one runway.
