As a precaution, 39 people were evacuated from their homes on Friday evening in Hörbranz (Vorarlberg) due to a landslide. Due to the heavy rainfall, the slope began to shift.
At 10:15 p.m. on Friday, it arrived in the municipality of Hörbranz in the Hochreute area suddenly to a 150 meter wide landslide. Since the slope was constantly moving, a total of 39 people from the surrounding houses in the Hochreute/Halbenstein area were removed from the danger zone by the police.
The slope is still moving and is being observed from a helicopter, among other things. Not only the earth had started to move, many boulders and broken trees also came down. Like the mayor of Hörbranz, State Councilor Christian Gantner is on site to get an idea of the situation.
Residents are allowed to return to their homes during the day, but the houses must be empty again on Sunday night.
