The 21-year-old alleged perpetrator was arrested following the most recent gun attack in Serbia that left eight people dead. Police had previously searched with a large contingent for the man who allegedly killed at least eight people in a village near Belgrade.
On Thursday evening, a 21-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a group of people with a rapid-fire rifle in the village of Dubona, 50 kilometers southeast of Belgrade. He killed eight people. More than ten others suffered injuries, the state news agency Tanjug reported, citing police. Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic described Friday night’s bloody act as a “terrorist act”.
More than 600 police officers, including members of the anti-terror unit, were deployed Friday morning using helicopters, drones and thermal imaging cameras. Earlier reports had reported that the perpetrator had been found and surrounded by the police.
