Officials of the police command of the city of Vienna-Brigittenau were alerted early Saturday morning. An 18-year-old said he was threatened with a knife by a boy. His unknown assailant had tried to take his wallet. However, the young man screamed so loudly for help that the suspect ran off with an older boy.
The two Syrians (13 and 18 years old) were stopped at the Praterstern and temporarily arrested.
The 13-year-old confessed to the allegations and said he gave the knife to his friend. In fact, the murder weapon could not be secured.
18-year-old turned himself in free
The minor was then taken to a crisis center and handed over to the guardians. According to ongoing investigations, the 18-year-old may not have contributed to the attempted robbery, which is why he was released by order of the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. The Viennese detective, Center-East department, has taken over the investigation.
