The bloody deed at the parking lot of the Zirl/Inzing motorway in Tyrol caused horror last weekend. The suspect, a 36-year-old Pole, confessed during his interrogation on Monday. The motive remains unclear.
The murder of the 35-year-old Pole, whose body was found covered in blood on Sunday morning, must now be clarified. As reported by the Tyrol Criminal Investigation Office, a Pole (36), who was arrested shortly after the victim was found, confessed to an investigation on Monday.
According to statements by the alleged perpetrator, there was a violent argument between the two men shortly after midnight on Sunday. Both must have been very drunk. During the interrogation, the suspect stated that he was the first to be hit.
Dispute escalated, suspect stabbed
As a result, all his fuses must have blown and he then defended himself “by stabbing the victim several times with a knife,” says lead researcher Katja Tersch. Both the victim and the suspect then got back into their small trucks. The 35-year-old man eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Motive unclear, murder weapon found
According to the suspect, he fell asleep in his truck. There he was found by police around 07:15 and eventually arrested. “The reason for the dispute is unknown to date and could not be mentioned by the suspect,” the police said. The murder weapon was probably a pocketknife. This was secured Monday night when searching the crime scene.
