Fire alarm Thursday evening in Gries am Brenner in Tyrol: the roof truss was on fire at an inn in the middle of the city. Several people managed to get to safety. One person had to be hospitalized.
According to the control center of Tyrol, the fire in the inn broke out around 1 a.m. When firefighters arrived, the attic was completely engulfed in flames. There would have been several people in the building. Apparently they all managed to escape on their own.
“One person had to be taken to the hospital in Hall,” says the emergency room for “Krone”. Nothing is known about the person’s health at the moment.
Operation continues, Brennerstrasse closed
The operation was still going on in the morning. As a result, the Brennerstrasse B182 had to be closed. The ÖAMTC advises road users to avoid the Brenner Autobahn. The four fire brigades of Gries, Steinach, Obernberg and Mieders are on site. The cause of the fire is still unclear, according to police.
