Authorities have made a grisly find at a house in Schattendorf in the Mattersburg district. The resident had taken a bath to apparently enjoy the pleasantly warm water. But the 75-year-old did not get up again, her heart stopped beating.

Shocked by the sight
When the 75-year-old was checked at home, a terrible picture occurred. “The woman was found dead, lying in her bathtub and almost like a drowned corpse,” the police said. Even the face was already swollen, decomposition was well advanced. “The pensioner must have been dead for at least a week before she was found,” it is believed.
Authorities believe the woman died of natural causes.
Funeral pays community
