Police alerted – gruesome find in the pond: dead cat was in the bin

Date:

A supposedly routine operation by the fire brigade in Trumau became a matter for the police: a dead cat lay in a welded metal box.

The rescue operation of the fire brigade in Trumau in the Baden district took a dramatic turn. After a community worker saw a box floating in the almond pond, the Florianis were notified. A comrade fought his way to the coffin and carried it to shore. As the contents were unknown, it was decided not to use an angle grinder and instead to open with the hydraulic rescue tool.

Packed in cardboard and plastic
“What came to light then was by no means a pretty sight,” says a firefighter. Because there was a dead cat in the welded aluminum box – packed in a cardboard box, aluminum foil and a plastic bag. Police were immediately notified of the shocking find.

“No Cruelty to Animals”
But this is not based on a terrible case of animal cruelty. Instead, a ritual burial is suspected. “There were no scratches in the box. It can therefore be assumed that the cat was already dead when it was brought in,” said a researcher. The attempt to read out the owner via the chip failed. The four-legged friend was not registered.
