Education has decided to increase the number of places for teachers, after it announced this week its intention to call up a total of 6,350 places in vocational education.
The Ministry of Education of the Basque Government has presented its proposal for: public vacancies (OPE) for this year and has decided to increase the number of places for teachers by 1008, what now 5365
This was communicated to the unions by those responsible for the Jokin Bildarratz department on Friday at a meeting of the sectoral table of civil servants teachers, the second this week after Monday’s.
In its meeting four days ago, Education announced its intention to meet this year 6350 seatsa figure left over from Friday’s meeting, although the report varies by category.
This change was possible because they appeared unassigned in the previous proposal 1008 places corresponding to this year’s replacement ratewhich are now scattered in the various educational institutions, Education sources have explained.
So pass the places for these professionals from 4357 to 5365 and are distributed as follows: 2,044 for teachers, 2,777 for secondary teachers and 262 for vocational training, in addition to 181 for specialists in unique sectors, 44 for language schools, 26 for music and performing arts, and 31 for visual arts and design teachers.
The vast majority of these positions, 3,407, concern the consolidation of temporary staff. Specifically, 2,697 in the merit match and 710 through a non-eliminating opposition match. The remaining 1812 will be decided by ordinary opposition.
In addition, the department plans to announce another 985 job vacancies for labor personnel (special education and cooking and cleaning), bringing the total number of vacancies for this year to 6,350 vacancies. During Friday’s meeting, the number of posts allocated to these two categories did not change.
The new distribution does not comply with ELA, which believes that the number of seats reserved for stabilization is “out of consolidation” almost two-thirds of the 13,000 temporary teachers“, which “will not meet Europe’s guidelines to reduce agency work to 8%”, something where “at least” one PPO with 10,000 jobs is demanding.
