A man suddenly became a lifesaver in Vienna on Saturday night: he pulled a girl who could no longer keep her head above the water at the Vienna City Beach Club from the Danube. The Viennese professional rescue service praises the first aid worker. Without his help, the child would not have survived.
When the man pulled the seven-year-old out of the water, he noticed she wasn’t breathing. The lifeguard immediately started CPR, after which the girl vomited large amounts of water and showed signs of life again, the Viennese professional rescue service reports.
Child taken to hospital in stable condition
The child was even conscious when the emergency services arrived. After stabilization and emergency medical care by several teams of the Vienna Professional Rescue Service, the seven-year-old was taken to a Viennese clinic in stable condition, according to the rescue service.
“The man behaved really exemplary. With his quick action and correct first aid measures, the first aid worker undoubtedly saved the girl’s life, “said the emergency services.
