Where until recently thousands of Carinthians spent the Pentecost weekend, there was great excitement on Sunday. Because the bathing beauties suddenly had to share the beach with a swarm of bees.
The bees were loose on Badestrand 8 in Lignano Sabbiadoro on Sunday. “Many tourists were on the beach at that time enjoying the sun and the sea,” reports a reader of “Krone”. Suddenly the bathing fun was overshadowed by screams. Thousands of bees have settled under a parasol. Although the animals were peaceful, part of the beach was cordoned off.
Beach cordoned off, expert notified
The police intervened and arranged for a subject matter expert to solve the problem. “It took a long time, probably because it was Sunday,” said the Carinthian on the spot. The small animals were then carefully moved to a mobile beehive and a short time later a holiday mood reigned again on the popular “Carinthian beach”.
