Another push – the Medical Association wants to punish “misses”.

Date:

On Wednesday, the Medical Association again called for asking patients to pay if they fail to show up at an office for an appointment. Only if there are valid reasons to stay away do you want to be “of course benevolent”.

It was frustrating when appointments were not canceled, this step was justified in a broadcast. “Adapting to the situation” is therefore not possible, explains Dietmar Bayer, deputy chairman of the Curia of the resident doctors of the Austrian Medical Association.

“As a panel doctor you try to provide the best care despite the lack of time,” he says. According to the Chamber, however, despite “online services with a reminder function” and “simple cancellation options”, it happens time and time again that sick people do not show up. If you knew, you could slip into other patients. That’s why we charge a fee.

Scheduled pick-up stations for over-the-counter drugs
In the future, non-prescription medicines can be bought not only in pharmacies, but also at collection stations. These must be directly connected to the relevant pharmacy, the National Council decided on Tuesday evening. In addition, the free choice of pharmacy is legally anchored.
