Tandem flight went wrong – paragliding duo fell 30 meters on the take-off ramp

For a 63-year-old, it should have been this summer’s adventure – but the woman stumbled as a passenger at the start of a tandem flight in Westendorf. With nasty consequences. . .

Shortly after 3 p.m., the duo wanted to make a tandem flight from the Choralpe in Westendorf. “The woman stumbled in the beginning. The pilot wanted to pull her up, but that was no longer possible,” said the police. The result: the two fell about 30 meters from the starting point into the impassable terrain below.

The pilot (48) was unharmed, but the passenger suffered serious injuries. She was evacuated by helicopter and flown to hospital.
