First Russian tactical nuclear weapons arrive in Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said the trial will end with the broadcast to the neighboring country by the end of the year at the latest. “By the end of the summer, the end of the year, this whole process will be completed. But it is a deterrent measure,” he stressed.

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putinsaid this Friday that the first tactical nuclear weapons have already arrived in Belarus in a process that will end with their deployment in the neighboring country by the end of the year at the latest.

“The first (tactical nuclear weapons) have been transported to Belarus. By the end of summer, by the end of the year, this whole process will be completed. But it is a deterrent measure,” Putin stressed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

A week ago, Putin said that the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on Belarusian territory would begin July 7 or 8.

The Ministers of Defense of Russia, Sergey Shoiguand from Belarus, Victor Jreninthey signed up end of May in Minsk, the documents governing the storage of non-strategic nuclear weapons on the territory of the former Soviet Republic.

In March Last year, the head of the Kremlin announced an agreement with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexandr Lukashenko, for the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in the neighboring country, accelerating defense policy integration over the past two years.

The head of the Kremlin reiterated this Friday that he has already said on numerous occasions that nuclear weapons should only be used by Russia if there is a threat to the territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty and existence of the Russian state.

“Nuclear weapons were created to ensure the security and existence of the Russian state. But it is not necessary” to resort to them, he stressed.
