Brutally stabbed by her own son – the tragic fate of a 54-year-old. Years ago, there were signs of violent behavior in the 22-year-old. But the mother continued to take care of him. Until a trivial argument over a meal order escalated completely.
The Vienna public prosecutor’s office has already investigated the 22-year-old several times. Also because of violence against her own mother – but she did not want to testify. She still usually let him sleep at her house.
Stung “in a fit of extreme rage.”
What was her downfall on February 28: The Viennese stabbed the 54-year-old with a kitchen knife in the neck and back. The reason for this deadly act of blood couldn’t be more banal: the suspect wanted to order food, but his mother wouldn’t give him any money for it. According to the indictment, he stabbed him three times “in an extreme fit of rage”.
“My client is very sorry for what happened,” said his lawyer Manfred Arbacher-Stöger. Minutes after the crime, the 22-year-old asked his neighbor for help, but told her a very different story: His mother had injured herself with the 14-inch knife. He also initially gave the police a similar version.
22-year-old marched through Vienna with a machete
The man, now charged with murder, started smoking marijuana and gambling at a young age – his mother supported him no matter what and took over adult representation when her son was stopped with a machete in the 16th precinct. And that’s why he was admitted at short notice.
According to the report, the man from Vienna-Liesing suffers from a combined personality disorder – but knew full well what he was doing. Especially the behavior at night – to get help and tell the neighbor that the mother has hurt herself – shows common sense.
In addition to the charge of murder, the Public Prosecution Service is therefore also requesting placement for danger to life. There is no trial date yet.
