The Basque government will present the draft bill of the Basque income guarantee and inclusion systemn (RGI), as announced last Friday by the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Employment, Idoia Mendia.
Mendia, along with the College’s spokesperson, Bingen Zupiria, will appear at the usual post-council press conference (today at 11:30. will be broadcast live on eitb.eus). The confidential counselor will explain the details of the project, which will then go through the parliamentary process.
As the Minister of Labor and Employment has pointed out, the law will “maintain the lines drawn up a year ago” in such a way that “it will more agile, more modern and clearer service” and “better coverage for homes where there are minors or retirees, for abused women or victims of human trafficking, for people with disabilities, for refugees and for victims of terrorism who were one day forced into exile and want to return.”
Mendia recalled that the text is the Minimum Vital Income (IM V) “once the transfer and adaptation to Lanbide is completed”.
