On the train, in the car, in the office, on the toilet or during sports – using a mobile phone has become a habit in all situations. More than 90 percent of Austrians already own a smartphone. And many of them use it with a regularity that is cause for concern. Are you already addicted? We’ve got the key!
Nomophobia – that is the technical term for mobile phone addiction, ie the fear of not having your mobile with you and therefore being unreachable or missing something. A disease that was unthinkable a few years ago. But meanwhile, the mobile phone has become so integrated into everyday life that it is impossible to imagine a life without it. In a study by B2X, four percent of users even indicated that they would rather go to jail for a month than be without a smartphone for a year. Another survey showed that more than two-thirds can no longer imagine life without a smartphone.
