A pool party for Muslim women only has been canceled in Limbiate, Italy. The right-wing governing party Lega previously sharply criticized the event. Security measures would be lacking and segregation would be applied, it said.
Lega MEP Isabella Tovaglieri described the event as a “party for the segregation of women”. The Muslim-only women’s festival was supposed to take place at a water park this Saturday. The plan was to turn off surveillance cameras “so that guests can spend a day free of prying eyes, as promised by the event’s advertising.”
