Cars collided – the car did a “somersault”: the driver (30) was seriously injured

Fatal accident in Assling in East Tyrol on Friday! A local motorist (72) collided with the car of a 30-year-old resident. His vehicle then flipped over. The ambulance was called.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. The 72-year-old drove his car on the B100 from Sillian towards Lienz. “Shortly before the Thal railway underpass, the driver crossed the oncoming lane for unknown reasons,” police said. There he collided with the 30-year-old’s oncoming car.

Driver seriously injured to hospital
“As a result of the collision, the 30-year-old’s car flipped over and landed on its roof.” However, the retiree’s car hit the curb before coming to a stop. The 30-year-old was seriously injured in the accident. After treatment by the emergency doctor, he was taken to the hospital in Lienz. Both cars were badly damaged. The road had to be completely closed for about 40 minutes.
