Golf is not known for serious injuries. However, in Braunau (Upper Austria), a serious accident occurred on Saturday morning with the vehicle that normally takes athletes from hole to hole. The drunk driver went too fast, two colleagues fell out of the moving golf cart.
Four men (22, 36 and 22 from St. Johann am Walde and 39 from Mettmach) drove a golf cart to the Wildenauer bathing lake area around seven in the morning. One of the two 22-year-olds and the 39-year-old stood at the back of the rear platform. The probably drunken journey ended in a twist.
Turned too fast
Because the driver turned left too quickly at an intersection towards Mettmach, the two rear passengers fell off the moving golf cart. They suffered serious injuries when they fell. The 22-year-old was taken to hospital in Ried, the 39-year-old had to be flown by rescue helicopter to the accident hospital in Linz.

A breath analysis of the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle showed a blood alcohol level of 1.16.
