The Zirler Berg in Tyrol is probably one of the most unfavorable places where you can imagine a brake failure as a motorist. This happened to a German (41) on Monday. And yet he was lucky in his misfortune. . .
On Monday afternoon, the driver had almost completed the dangerous route with a gradient of up to 16 percent when Zirl’s brakes failed. “The man first drove into the oncoming lane against the guardrail, then the vehicle was thrown back and came to a stop,” police said. Fortunately, no other road users were involved.
Four quail as captives
Badly broken down, the somewhat “old” mobile home finally came to a stop. The man escaped with minor injuries and shock. The emergency services who arrived on the scene were stunned, because there were also four quails in the vehicle. They survived the accident relatively unscathed, but flew freely and ended up in the care of a vet.
