The 54-year-old forest entrepreneur was discovered early Tuesday morning in a wooded area. A colleague went looking for him. However, the emergency doctor was only able to determine the death of the man. According to the state police in Lower Austria, after felling a tree, he was hit by a branch on the back of his head and suffered fatal injuries.

The man was only felling trees at an altitude of 1,000 meters on behalf of the Austrian Forestry Commission in the Gaming/Zürner forest district. A spruce fell over a maple. At a height of about twelve meters, a branch was torn off and hit the 54-year-old victim in the back of the head. He succumbed to fatal injuries.
