rejected love? – Trial thriller after trembling for a fire devil in Kundl

Date:

Blurred tracks in the snow, an evening of dancing by the victim and many unanswered questions: a 56-year-old Tyrolean is now on trial in Innsbruck after mysterious events and a car that burned down in Kundl.

The activities of a fire devil shook the inhabitants of Kundl in winter – the “Krone” reported several times. A woman’s car also caught fire in a garage on Feb. 26, after an old laundry room and a fire truck set on fire. Detonators on the rear wheel started the fire. The car was destroyed and the garage was badly damaged.

Police encountered a neighbor (56) who reportedly hastily wiped out the tracks in the snow with a broom. “Not guilty, I was shocked myself,” said the suspect, who was only in court for this case, but not for the whole series and certainly not for other fires in previous years. He was out alone that night because he wanted to investigate the mysterious fire himself, he confidently claimed.

After the dance, the customer’s car caught fire
The prosecution explained that the 56-year-old had danced with the car owner the day before. After that there was a lively WhatsApp exchange. “Rejection of his advances” is a possible motive for the crime. To clarify, there were also cameras installed in the village at the time, they repeatedly showed a man with the same “signature gait”.

The responsible police officer at the State Criminal Investigation Department, who evaluated the videos, was able to match the time and place of the crime with the movements of this “phantom”. Whether the 56-year-old can be seen on it remained open.

The suspect must also answer for the unlawful storage of more than 100 gas bottles and approximately 25,000 liters of diesel, as well as for seized stolen goods.

The car owner stayed away from the first day of the trial
On Wednesday on the second day of the trial, a fire expert who has apologized for the first day of the trial will be questioned. The interrogation of the car owner, who was absent without excuse, is also planned. The presumption of innocence applies to the 56-year-old.
