Shortly before noon, the earth shook in the Schwaz (Tyrol) region. There in southwest Schwaz, the seismograph recorded a magnitude of 3.8. Sometimes small objects moved.
“The earthquake was clearly felt in the vicinity of the epicenter, sometimes small objects moved. At this size, minor damage can occasionally occur,” says seismologist Anna Smith on the Seismological Service website. The Austrian Seismological Service asks the population on Saturday to report the earthquake perception in the Schwaz district.
There are no reports of damage to buildings yet. On Friday there should have been small earthquakes in the Schwaz region. These were in the morning and should not have been noticeable. The ground also shook briefly in Umhausen on Friday evening.
