22 years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, people in the US remembered the victims on Monday with numerous events (see video above). Vice President Kamala Harris also attended the memorial service in New York – and she was in good spirits.
At a memorial service in New York, family members read out the names of the approximately 3,000 people killed in the attacks. Among the many attendees was New York Mayor Eric Adams, who had a brilliant conversation with Kamala Harris.
US President Joe Biden planned to deliver a short commemorative speech on the return journey from the G20 summit in India in the US state of Alaska later this afternoon (local time, scheduled from 10:45 p.m. CEST).
