The General Assemblies of Bizkaia will debate next Monday on the integration of two new taxes into the tax system of this provincial area, the tax non-reusable plastic containers and the one focused on the down payment of waste in landfills and its incineration.
The two new taxes would come into effect from January 1 this year, following their approval by the boards of directors in a subsequent plenary session and their publication in the Official Gazette of Bizkaia, as reported by the provincial parliament on Friday.
Both are taxes of new agreement and, in accordance with the provisions of the Economic Agreement, should be governed by the same rules as those established by the State.
The special tax on non-reusable plastic containers sets a tax rate of 0.45 euros per kilo for companies that produce, import or acquire this type of packaging.
The tax on the dumping of waste in landfills, the incineration and co-incineration of waste sets different tax burdens depending on the type of waste (domestic, inert, hazardous, etc.) that is dumped in approved facilities.
