A major fire Friday afternoon in Graz-St. Peter claimed one life. According to information from the fire brigade, an 80-year-old woman died in her kitchen, while two other people were able to save themselves in time.
Apparently the fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor of the house, after which the flames spread to the attic. “When the fire brigade arrived, the house was already completely on fire,” the Graz fire brigade said.
The BF and the volunteer fire brigade of the state capital did their best to extinguish the building with 40 men. All help came too late for an 80-year-old lady. She was found dead in the kitchen.
House is “uninhabitable”
Two other people, apparently renters, were able to free themselves. According to the emergency services, the house is uninhabitable.
