A run on Saturday ended fatally for a 39-year-old from the St. Veit district of Carinthia. The man’s body was discovered by a couple.
The couple wanted to do a via ferrata on Saturday morning. As they got closer, the two from the Spittal district saw a man lying motionless on a path under the Danielsberg climbing garden.
All help came too late
The rescue team was immediately alerted. However, the emergency doctor was only able to confirm the death of the 39-year-old from Mölltal. The Upper Carinthia was rescued from the impassable terrain by the Libelle police helicopter with the help of a rope.
Slipped and fell
Police suspect the man slipped and fell while running along the steep, partly rocky path, sustaining fatal injuries.
